My name is Keyla Buonocore. I was born 21 years ago in the beautiful island of Capri, in the Gulf of Naples, where I spent most of my childhood.
Since I was a teenager, I wanted to study design and work in the field of graphic design. After graduating at Liceo Scientifico Gaetano Salvemini (Sorrento), I moved to Rome in 2013 to study Graphic design at the Istituto Europeo di Design. The three years I have spent at IED have shown me that even demanding tasks can be accomplished when passion and hard work combine toward a creative end.
I was extremely happy to take part, with several other students of my class, in the contest organized by ALAI Italia and IED to create – as part of the dissertation for my degree – the logo and the graphics for the ALAI International Congress 2016. The opportunity to cooperate with ALAI Italia has been also a test for my imagination and for the skills acquired during my studies. The Congress underlying ideas – beauty and usefulness – were intriguing to me since they are so close to my personal interests and so ingrained in the career I aspire to.
It has been a challenge and an opportunity to work for this international project while still attending courses. Moreover, since my work has been selected for the Congress materials and web site, the preparation of my dissertation has become also an exciting professional experience.
